Vera Vinter is an artist originating from Stora Lappträsk, Norrbotten, a village that occupies 12 inhabitants and a small number of people with summer accommodations. 12, not 12.000. That kind of environment as well as thesurroundings will shape a person in a certain way.
Vera has been a Stockholm resident for 20 years but her birthtown is an essential part of her that´ll always be carried in her heart.
Vera´s songs are a mix of folk music & indie pop along with Swedish lyrics and Kalix native tongue.
Her voice is fused with raw electric and acoustic guitars and she creates intimate personal songs depicting childhood memories and the contrasts of the countryside and the city.
Vera Vinter´s solo album debut ”Idyll” was released on the Sony Music label in 2012 after being discovered by Bo Sundström.
Ever since then, she´s toured extensively both as a solo artist and with other artists such as Bo Kaspers, Staffan Hellstrand & Petra Marklund.
She also performed a mellow and unique interpretation of Ulf Lundells classic ”Snön faller och vi med den”.
Vera Vinter writes, records and publishes music on her own label Bjärka. Artistic cross-conceptions and the female narrative perspective are close to her heart as is the independent music scene.
In 2021, it became clear that Vera Vinter is participating in the newly launched program The Global Network for Female-Identifying Music Producers, a network for female music producers where 25 female studio producers and beatmakers from all over the world will meet, discuss ideas, network and help overcome obstacles in the industry together. The network is a collaboration between Canada, Australia, Estonia, Argentina and Sweden.
In spring and summer of 2021, Vera will release several singles – including the song ”Syrénlila” (a duet with Julia Frej) which was released on May 14th.
Vera´s fourth album is set to be released on October 1st.
